About 1 300 employees of Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat) will be affected at the end of the year, says the company of the expiry of its contract with the Gupta-linked Aforika Borwa Mining Solutions (ABMS). RBPlat has had a contract with ABMS, a subsidiary of Tegeta Resources which is owned by Oakbay Investments, for several years even before the Guptas were involved, RBPlat spokesman Mpueleng Pooe said. He added: "We're terminating the contract for commercial reasons." The contract is set to expire at the end of December and will not be renewed. Bank of Baroda, the only lender in South Africa still offering services to companies linked to the Guptas, is seeking a court order that will allow it to close the accounts of those companies.  Impala Platinum (Implats) was still using the services of JIC Mining Services, another Gupta-linked company, Implats spokesman Johan Theron said on Friday.
