What are you reading?

A thriller titled The Delta by Tony Park.

In a nutshell?

It is a fast-paced ode (538 pages) to the wilderness with plenty twists and turns. A sweeping thriller that plays out in the wilderness of southern Africa.

Sonja Kurtz is an ex-soldier turned mercenary with a fractured past. She is sent to assassinate the president of Zimbabwe and becomes an eco-commando, using her mercenary skills to save the delta. The book is about the death of ecosystems brought on by civilisation and greed.

Why should people read it?

The heroine is a brilliant soldier, child of the wilderness at heart and a simple girl looking for a long-lost love. She is an interesting character. The action sequences are out of this world.
