Bunglers red with shame

Vodacom is red. That was the multimillion-rand ad campaign. And now we know why. Thursday's total shutdown of its call and sms services has left the cellphone giant red in the face.

Millions of subscribers lost money, time and business because the network was down for an entire day. No emergency interventions. Just an embarrassed tweet from Vodacom apologising for the blaps.

Bet Vodacom's former shareholder Telkom loved the great publicity for the old-fashioned landline.

MTN also let down 100000 customers that day - but Vodacom sending the proverbial "please call me" during the crisis lands them the trophy.
