Chrysler's Jeep division has launched the Jeep Wrangler Conservation Edition model.

It is based on the Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Sahara models and only 50 have been produced.

For every one of the Conservation Editions sold, R10000 will go to the Reserve Protection Agency Public Benefit Organisation.

The agency is a non-profit organisation at the forefront of protecting South Africa's endangered wildlife, specifically focusing on the country's diminishing rhino population.

The Conservation Edition is powered by either the award-winning 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar petrol engine or the frugal 2.8-litre Common Rail diesel engine, and numerous extras have been added to differentiate these Jeeps from other models.

The special additions include a Mopar light bar with four spotlights (which prevents the lamps from shaking), a Mopar fuel filler cap (to stop theft and to prevent contamination), Mopar tail-light guards, Conservation Edition decaling and two nights for two guests at any South African National Parks camp.

Jeep will only produce 40 Wrangler Unlimited cars in the Conservation Edition, and 10 Wrangler Saharas.

The vehicle is available in three exterior colours; Anvil, Dune or White.
