The company noted that the week’s trending search terms didn’t bear much relation to the top trending questions.

Trending search terms on Google SA this week included ‘Start of the 2016 Paralympics’ with over 200‚000 searches on Wednesday‚ ‘iPhone 7’ on Tuesday with more than 100‚000 searches‚ ‘Luthuli House’ with some 10‚000+ searches on Monday‚ and Mother Teresa on Sunday‚ with 5‚000+ searches.

This information is gleaned from from data collated by Google‚ based on what South Africans have been searching for and asking Google this week. Google processes more than 40‚000 search queries every second.
