Ever since the Conquest RSI disappeared in the early 1990s Toyota has lacked a small, fun and reasonably affordable hot-hatchback in their range lineup.
Now one man plans to change this. Ex-race engineer, Martin Pretorius, has just applied the finishing touches to his Etios RSI – a turbocharged version of the popular Toyota hatch that's regularly seen up near the top of the sales charts.
With 110kw beneath the bonnet plus some brake, suspension and styling tweaks, this performance-oriented model has created a stir across social media platforms.
Pretorius is currently in talks with Toyota to build and sell no less than 40 examples that will go on sale to the public in 2017.
