The first series I binge-watched was The Wire. I remember driving one night to the last DVD store open to buy Season 5, because I had just finished Season 4 and couldn't wait.
One of the things growing up that frustrated me no end was that I had to wait a week to watch the next episode. With the advent of the box set and the binge watch, I was like, "What took you all so long!"
The Wire is simply the gold standard. The storytelling, the acting, the cinematography but more importantly the humanity.
My favourite show at the moment is the Ava DuVernay-produced series Queen Sugar. Absolutely love it.
There are a few shows on ice that I can't wait to watch: Tjovitjo, iNumber Number, Luke Cage, Atlanta and Insecure.
I treat series watching like I treat the gym: 'Today we're going to do comedy, tomorrow we're going to do drama.' Though it's overwhelming, I tend to watch all the episodes at once where possible so I can move on...
