Behind every strong woman is another one: Nandi Dlepu fosters female camaraderie

Inspired by those around her in the creative industry, Nandi Dlepu is breaking new ground with BLOOM, the conversational platform that aims to inspire women.
She tells us more about it and shares some of her favourite things:
BLOOM was inspired by a heartfelt conversation with co-founder Farai Simoyi just over a year ago. My inspiration came from a personal need. We are often told to "create the things you wish existed", and that's what we did. We created a platform where creative women could support and inspire each other in achieving our goals.I have a thing for illustrated tees with simple silhouettes of bodies and faces. My favourites include my SELFI portrait T-shirt, my Nguni T-shirt from Mind Over Matter in Durban, as well as my body positivity T-shirt with illustrations of nude female silhouettes by illustrator Tana Fereirra from Convoy.
Accra is currently my favourite city but I haven't been to Kenya yet and I suspect Nairobi is going to be a huge contender. I love the weather in Accra and the people and the creative community really resonates with me.
I've gone at different times of the year and each time has been wonderful, providing a different yet equally attractive perspective of the city and country.
I love SELFI. I have loved every single garment from her since her 2015 collection. Her latest collection, Uniform, tries to capture the essence of easy living and simplicity - I think that's her style in general. It's what constantly attracts me to her work.If I could buy any work of art right now, I would get myself Lakin Ogunbanwo's "Not So Sorry" print from his "Are we good enough" series, and I would travel back in time and get myself pretty much anything from Mohau Modisakeng.I am always listening to Nina Simone & Miles Davis.
My favourite fragrance is Tom Ford’s Orchid Soleil, 50ml, R1,650.
I am reading Here Comes the Sun by Nicol Dennis-Benn.
Three beauty products I swear by are Bobbi Brown's BB Cream (R565), which I use as my everyday foundation; Suki Suki Natural's Miraculous Oil (R180) for my edges, and Estee Lauder's Advance Night Repair (R850)...
