Giving the people what they want: Will Smith, totes orc

14 January 2018 - 00:00 By Yolisa Mkele

Depending on what you want from a movie, Netflix's Bright is either the end product when one takes an LSD-infused laxative or a fairly pleasurable way to kill some time. According to the internet, how you feel about the movie depends on whether or not you are a professional film critic.
Set in a modern-day Los Angeles populated with extras from The Lord of the Rings, it is easy to see how people with sober proclivities would look down their noses at it, especially when one considers that, at core, Bright is Bad Boys with more orcs and less Martin Lawrence.
