If you've just recovered from craziness caused by Checkers' Little Shop promo — where children went nuts collecting miniatures of SA's fave branded products — brace yourself:  the retailer is at it again.

Checkers has launched a Little Garden promotion, where kids get one free grow-it-yourself seedling kit for every R150 their parents spend.

The kit includes a biodegradable pot, a soil pod, a seed paper, a sticker and a name tag. Kids can use these goodies to grow their own real flowers, vegetables and herbs.

On their website, Checkers says the idea behind this promotion is to inspire South Africans of all ages to get their hands dirty and, in the process, learn a bit more about food sustainability.

The retailer has also pledged to plant sustainable food gardens in the communities it serves.

So what will your little ones be growing once they've collected all 24 seedling kits? There are eight vegetables including cabbage, cauliflower and radishes; eight flowers including English daisies, pansies and Snap Dragons; and eight herbs including coriander, parsley and thyme.

Checkers is also selling pint-sized gardening tools, as well as a case to display all 24 potted-up seedlings, which your child can use to complete their collection.

So what's the reaction to the Little Garden promo? People seem to be loving it.

@TheCapeTownGuy thinks Checkers is finally doing something right with its Little range.

@MrsM_SA says the seedling kits are something fun and useful to collect.

@SizweMudau thinks every child should have access to Checkers' Little Garden kits.
