If I'm not working on a Saturday, I am generally quite relaxed and ease myself into the day. I love to go to new food markets. There are some amazing and very popular ones in Joburg that I enjoy.
Sundays are for church and I like to just rest and focus on the week ahead. My friend has a restaurant in Vilakazi Street called Restaurant Vilakazi, where I go for Sunday lunch. I also love seeing my family and spending quality time with them.
Saturday afternoons are for either having lunch with friends, exploring a food market or going to check out something new that's happening in town. There are always new events taking place which I try to go to.
Sunday afternoons are most definitely for family and just gathering myself for a busy week ahead.
I love going to quaint spots on the weekend that are hidden gems. Magoebaskloof is absolutely gorgeous and I would love to spend a weekend there. It's probably one of the best parts of our country and many people don't know about it.
I've never been to Greece, but Paternoster in the Western Cape, a few hours from Cape Town, reminds me of a mini Greece. It is breathtaking. I love these little gems in SA.
I have also discovered this food-delivery service in Cape Town called Oishi. They serve takeaway sushi which is fresh and absolutely delicious. You just order it in and they'll have it at your doorstep in minutes. That is one of my perfect ways to spend an evening.
I love to spend my downtime on weekends with my friends because they are the energy that keeps me going. They all work so hard that when we spend time together, we make it worthwhile and it's tons of fun.
I love eating at home. I generally prepare the food myself, but in the week if I am not cooking I am more of a "quick-eat" kind of person, and I like recipes that don't require me to get too involved in the kitchen. That being said, on kitchen days we create magic.
I'm not much of a reader but I love listening to podcasts. I enjoy watching documentaries or anything that enriches my mind. I constantly want to grow and develop my thinking.
On the weekend I love to listen to music and couldn't live without it. My tastes range from Post Malone to Travis Scott to Tiwa Savage. Afrobeat and hip-hop are my first loves when it come to music, but a bit of alternative can be thrown in to spice it up. Artists such as John Mayer, The Jackson 5 and Taylor Swift also come to mind, but it all depends on the mood I am in.
Just before going to bed I write a lot of notes to remember what I need to do. I have a Netflix and podcast obsession which keeps me inspired with the content to get my head in the right frame of mind for the week ahead. That's where all my positive energy comes from, so it's very important for me...
