Meghan Markle and Prince Harry join Instagram

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have joined Instagram.

The royal couple joined the social media platform on Tuesday and have already accumulated 1.9m followers, after just one post.

"... we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues," the couple said in their post. 

In October, the royal family announced that the couple is expecting their first child in 2019, which instantly intensified the fan base for the two.

Meghan's sense of style is another attraction for her fans and the page will come in handy for those who follow her looks. 

The couple are not the only Instagram-savvy members of the British royal family.

In March, Queen Elizabeth II uploaded her first Instagram post to the official royal family page while visiting a science museum in London.
