If you think Covid-19 will kill us, try Poverty-2021

Inequality in SA can be overcome — but we must start at the very bottom, writes Mark Barnes

Economic inequality — we talk about it a lot, but we dare not become complacent. We cannot simply wish it away, or go, and leave it behind. Or worse still, accept it? No! We need to slap each other in the face with it, until we actually do something about it. If you think Covid-19 will kill us, try Poverty-2021.

As you approach Stellenbosch, having driven past Khayelitsha (Xhosa for Our New Home) on the R310 from Muizenberg, you can't help but find your mind filled with the vastly different circumstances of people in Our New Country...
