After returning home from studying at the New York Film Academy and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts for two years, South African actress Bianca Bosch made her feature film debut as Olivia in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth in 2018. She has gone on to act in The Kissing Booth 2 (2020) and The Kissing Booth 3, which Netflix released in August.

We spoke to Bosch to find out what’s on her cultural radar.

Favourite restaurants  you enjoy visiting?

My two new favouritess are Kol and Tang in Josburg. I love getting dressed up and going for a beautiful dinner. I have a passion for interior design so it’s sometimes more enjoyable experiencing the space and decor than the food. The food is the cherry on top.

Listening to any specific podcasts?

I'm always listening to a new episode of the Almost 30 podcast on Spotify. They cover everything from modern spirituality, health and wellness, aliens, entrepreneurship, sex, and self development — topics all beneficial to where I am in my life — questioning everything and trying to figure it all out at 25.

What beauty products and brands are on your radar?

ARC, SA’s new beauty and cosmetics store, has just launched in Sandton, and it’s becoming a little too dangerous for my bank account. I love that their concept is “redefining the conversation around beauty”, promoting uniqueness and individuality. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that they stock some of the best international brands.

Music you enjoy listening to?

Covid is slowing down and festivals are back in swing. I’ve been listening to some incredible South African artists lately, one of them being Zakes Bantwini. I can’t wait to watch him live at Wolfkop. Otherwise, my favourite, Polo & Pan, stay right up there, providing me with good summer feels.

And what about clothing brands?

Summer is here so I’m kitting out my wardrobe with loads of bright colours. I do love a little online shopping. Mura Boutique and Princesspolly are two of my favourites. They’re both Australian brands, well priced, and stock great quality pieces.
