01 April 2018 - 00:00 By Staff reporter

What was your favourite beauty moment from fashion week this past weekend and why?
The Ituen Basi show. I loved the use of pearls around the eye area and how the skin was just so luminous and fresh.
As someone who has his own suit line, can you share what or who you are excited about in the fashion industry overall and why?
A designer label called Imprint ZA gave us something fresh and uniquely African. I love the designer, Mzukisi Mbane's interpretation of the prints infused with Sophiatown style and the berets with pearls on them.Which designer do you think stole the show this season?
Orapeleng Module as expected. It gives me so much joy to see young, talented, passionate designers out of South Africa.
What is one beauty trend straight off the runways that you think is extremely wearable and everyone can try right now?
It was from the Quiteria and George show. The minimal makeup trend with soft combed out browns, flushed pinks and bronzes on the cheeks. That is totally doable.Describe your signature style in three words and what or who inspires your style?
Modern, simple and luxe, inspired by my travels. Think yachts, champagne, cologne scents and opulence.
You always look so well put together; can you share how you prep for fashion week in terms of your grooming routine?
I visit my barber every Thursday but now that fashion week started on a Wednesday I had to go earlier. With regards to facial grooming I follow the three steps which are cleanse, tone and moisturise.
What are your top five product essentials that you swear by and why?
A good facial moisturiser; it is very important that you moisturise to prevent future skin damage and reduce signs of ageing.
A facial scrub to remove dead skin cells.
A face and body foundation; the formula is very sheer and gives a natural glow.
Lip conditioner because your lips need moisture too so they don't look dry and chapped.
A fixing spray; this instantly refreshes and sets makeup.
What is your favourite fragrance to wear?
I mix Yves Saint Laurent M7 Oud Absolu with Tom Ford Oud Wood.As a makeup artist to the stars, what is your key tip for making makeup last all day - especially during fashion week?
Before applying your foundation, prime, prime and prime again ... make sure you get a mattifying primer to keep you matte through-out the day. Then apply a fixing spray, waterproof mascara and long lasting matte lipstick...
