Let's be honest, besides the bride's dress, the thing fashionistas were most looking forward to about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding was seeing what sort of hats Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie would wear.

We were dying to know whether the regal pair would redeem themselves after being widely teased by the public and press for the outlandish fascinators they wore to Prince William and Kate Middleton's 2011 wedding.

Here's which royal wedding guest's choice of headgear failed to impress, and who got gold stars in the style stakes:

WORST HATS

PRINCESS EUGENIE

Perhaps terrified of sparking another mean fashion meme, Princess Eugenie clearly played it safe this time round. Her pale blue hat by Stephen Jones was boring.

PRINCESS BEATRICE

From one extreme to the next, Princess Beatrice just cant seem to get it right when it comes to fashion and hats.

Following in her sister's footsteps, she also chose something subtle: a green design by Fiona Graham which looked more like a headband than a hat. Boring!

CHELSY DAVY

As she was attending the wedding of her ex-boyfriend, you would expect Davy to have gone all out and worn something fashionable and fabulous.

Instead her navy mini dress and matching cape made us yawn. Her head piece looked more like a spiky alien antenna then a designer fascinator.

BEST HATS

KITTY SPENCER

Princess Diana's niece, Lady Kitty Spencer's green floral Dolce & Gabbana gown was perfectly tailored. We loved her choice of eccentric fascinator, too.

Designed by Philip Treacy — the hat designer for the well-heeled — it made a bold statement while still looking sophisticated and stylish.

CAMILLA, DUCHESS OF CORNWALL

Let's be honest, it takes a brave woman to wear to a hat made of entirely of sugar pink feathers anywhere — let alone to the one of world's most-watched weddings.

The Duchess took a risk picking this Philip Treacy hat, and we think it paid off.

PRIYANKA CHOPRA

The Bollywood actress's overall look was one of simple sophistication. Not only did her Philip Treacy hat fit her perfectly, but it beautifully echoed the asymmetrical design of her Vivienne Westwood suit.
