Mantua designer Juandi Andrag's favourite things

Designer Juandi Andrag has merged her lifelong interest in pattern design with watercolour painting to create silk scarves that are like wearable works of art for her brand, Mantua.
She tells us more about her latest collection, and shares some of her favourite things:
My latest collection, called Maska, explored the paradox between camouflage and identity and the masks we choose to wear as our defence or as our identity. The scarves are designed on zebra and leopard skins with brightly coloured backgrounds of blue, red and yellow.
I recently worked on a beautiful collaboration with Pichulik for their new range called Harvest Moon. Pichulik is woven together by an incredible team of women who embody the brand ethos of acceptance and inclusiveness while crafting their authentic aesthetic. It was truly amazing.

My dream South African brand collaboration would be with Okapi as they underpin the essence of luxury made in Africa, while adhering to a colourful but classic aesthetic.
My favourite designer is Dries van Noten. I absolutely loved his runway collection which featured dresses and blouses in silk scarf fabrics. It was beautiful.
My favourite city is New York because of the MOOD fabric store which I visit over and over and over and spend hours browsing, buying, touching, feeling and drooling over. The electric nature of the city inspires me.
I am listening to the '80s playlist I compiled for the recent Mantua Maska campaign shoot that had a dance-studio theme.
The song I have on repeat is I know by King Princess, a cover of Fiona Apple's song.
My most treasured item is my 1,5m long Matisse Lithograph print of '1001 Nights' from his cut-outs. The bright colours and shapes continually inspire me.
If money were not an issue I would buy anything by American expressionist artist Helen Frankenthaler, such as Abstract Landscapes, 1951.
My favourite item of clothing is a pair of light copper-coloured snake-skin ankle booties.
The last thing I bought and loved is a pair of dark green leather ankle boots I got in Paris.
The beauty products I swear by are Chanel CC Cream and any red shade of MAC matte lipstick.
My favourite fragrance is Les Exclusifs De Chanel Sycomore...
