Find of the week: Awards are not only for the big screen

Cheesemakers Rina and Norman Belcher know their oats when it comes to making cheese.

At their Belnori Boutique Cheesery near Bapsfontein in Gauteng, they produce a range of award-winning cheeses using the milk of their Swiss Saanen herd.

We loved their latest creation, Kilimanjaro.

A curd-washed, truckle-shaped goats' milk cheese, it is matured for up to four months, which gives the cheese an appealing and distinctive nutty flavour. It was named the winner of the 2012 Woolworths Cheese Makers Challenge.

The decoupage layer covering the cheese is Rina's innovation.

"I had a light-bulb moment when looking at some pretty serviettes, realising the top layer of the serviette would make an excellent covering for the cheese," she said.
