The recent pop-up Robertsons Reinvention Kitchen at Melrose Arch in Johannesburg celebrated spices, the pillars of great-tasting food.
Cape Town chef Rikku O'Donnchu, who's worked with many top chefs including Heston Blumenthal, kicked off with an Indian-inspired meal that heroed chilli.
He tells us why we should all be cooking with this hot, versatile spice:
