8 things you didn't know about the winner of MasterChef Australia S9

Those who tuned into the nail-biting finale of Season 9 of MasterChef Australia, which screened in SA last week, will know which contestant walked away victorious.
But did you know that the winner, Diana Chan, is a Nando's fan? Here are eight interesting facts about Chan and the competition itself:
1. Chan walked away with A$250,000 (R2,374,726) cash prize and a contract with a local food magazine. Runner-up Ben Ungermann received A$40,000 (R380,020).
2. Contestants lived away from home for seven months for the filming of this season.
3. Aged 30, Chan was born in Malaysia, the youngest of three children and moved to Australia to study when she was 19.4. Chan plans to open a restaurant. Her vision is a casual dining venue serving balanced meals featuring a fusion of Malaysian and other influences.
5. Before winning MasterChef accountant Chan worked as a senior analyst for Deloitte.
6. Since winning she has been promoting tourism to Malaysia. "I used to have a 9-5 job but now I can do menu planning, a cooking demo or a photo shoot, or do recipe testing."
7. Her partner Tim McNamara encouraged her to enter MasterChef.
8. Chan has a penchant for Nando's! "My boyfriend and I always get the hot grilled chicken with spicy rice and chips. Mine is extra hot because he can't take the spiciness."..
