A-listers flocked to the Riboville boutique hotel in Johannesburg on Monday to toast Bonang Matheba's latest business venture: a luxury beverage brand called House of BNG.
At the glamorous event, inspired by a picnic in the Hamptons, Queen B popped the cork on House of BNG's first offerings: a Brut Methode Cap Classique (MCC) and a Brut Rose MCC.
MCC is the South African version of champagne. The only difference is that champagne grapes must be grown in the Champagne region of France to be allowed to bear the name, and we use local grapes.
“We have some of the world’s best grapes here in South Africa," enthused Matheba in a press statement, adding that the pair of bubblies are her "love letter to Africa".
Here are some of the celebrities who turned up to raise a glass to the House of BNG:
• Priced at R399 per bottle, The House of BNG Brut and Brut Rosé MCCs are available in select Woolworths stores and on the Woolworths website.
