Exciting retail exhibit gives Paris a taste of SA design talent

It's hard to improve on the cultural experience of Paris, but injecting some African flavour certainly adds a novel twist.
The South Africa in Paris exhibition, hosted by the iconic Le BHV/Marais department store in the heart of the city, runs from June 14 to July 31 and promises a bounty of South African artisanal craft and design.
Forty brands will be on show, including Ardmore, Ninevites, RialHeim, Wiid Design and Yswara. The department store will be decked out in the vivid colours of the rainbow nation.
Parisians will be exposed to the richness of South African creative energy, while tourists will find the exhibition a must-visit, especially as it's conveniently located next to attractions such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Pompidou Centre.
The project, the first of its kind in Paris, was conceptualised by This is Cape Town, which has partnered with Artlogic and Le BHV/Marais.
The aim is to support local designers as they expand into global markets, and, given France's appreciation of the African aesthetic, we can't think of a better city to host this initiative...
