Three words that describe your design style?
Quirky. Bold. Colourful.
What's the difference between aLoveSupreme and TRUE?
We created TRUE as a classic, contemporary range to appeal to a sophisticated customer. Originally, we were going to make it a monotone range, so that it would not directly compete with the more colourful aLoveSupreme. After looking around we realised everyone was doing monotone and that market felt a little bit saturated, so we went with black and gold, which we find stylish and elegant.
What's your design process?
I illustrate an array of elements and then play around with them until designs fall together. I then select a range of ideas with different "personalities", but which all still fit together as a family. Sometimes the final product can be a series of happy accidents.
Good design is ...
I love design that tells a story aesthetically.A product you'd love to make one day?
A series of Chuck Taylor high tops with aLoveSupreme designs. If there was one item you could buy right now for your home, what would it be?
A proper fireplace. We did renovations a while back and installed a gas fireplace. What a mistake...
