Southern Guild, the local champions of collectable design, are celebrating their 10-year anniversary with a bang. Their ground-breaking show, Extra Ordinary, is an exhibition of commissioned pieces by a select group of multidisciplinary artists. The makers, who include the likes of Xavier Clarisse, Douglas & Company, Rich Mnisi, Zizipho Poswa, Madoda Fani and Daniella Mooney, were invited to produce new work that crosses over into disciplines, materials or technologies out of their comfort zone.Julian McGowan, co-founder of The Guild Group, says: "They're accomplished designers already. We wanted them to think differently about themselves and their work."
The show includes furniture, lighting, sculpture and jewellery. "You will not have seen anything like these pieces before," says McGowan.
• 'Extra Ordinary' runs until April 16 at Southern Guild Gallery GUILD,  Shop 5B, Silo 5, V&A Waterfront. Visit southernguild.co.za..
