Category finalist: Endangered Africa - Blue cranes fly across a Great Karoo sunset in the Eastern Cape, near Graaff-Reinet, South Africa. According to conservation organisation @Birdlife, this species has declined rapidly, largely owing to poisoning, powerline collisions and loss of its grassland breeding habitat.
