Norwegian cruise and passenger line Hurtigruten is offering early booking discounts on its cruises to Greenland

The company is offering savings of up to 20%  on its nine-day “Heart of Greenland” cruise as well as on its newer 15-day expedition, which visits Northeast Greenland National Park, Spitsbergen and several places in Iceland. Four different itineraries are offered  between the end of May and September 2013 aboard the cruise line’s 250-berth expedition ship MS Fram.

Hurtigruten is proud of its Greenland cruise programme which it says allows passengers to interact with the local Inuit  people and learn about their culture as well as the harsh reality of living on an ice-encrusted island where only two towns are connected by road. Excursions include a helicopter flight to Ilulissat Glacier in western Greenland and hiking expeditions in Qeqertarsuaq on Disko Island and Ilulissat.
