Hotel chain pulls the plug on goldfish-lending scheme

A hotel chain's goldfish-lending scheme has been axed, due to concerns about the welfare of the fish.
The Guppy Love programme was for the past few years a popular offering at about nine Kimpton hotels, a US-based boutique chain owned by the InterContinental Hotels Group.
Guests with children and even lonely business travellers seemed most keen to take up the offer of a loan goldfish or guppy, to keep them company in their rooms during their stay...
