My perfect holiday involves a beach, a cocktail, and a companion ... who doesn't speak ... ever. I travel so much for work that I cherish a quiet and relaxing trip with one small bag and no drag.

My best holiday ever was in Las Vegas at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino, when I was crowned the winner of Rupaul's Drag Race. My life completely changed.

The first time I travelled abroad was just a few years ago, after Drag Race in 2014. I drink ... a lot ... so all I remember is that it was a trip to the UK and Ireland to perform in a few nightclubs. Queen Elizabeth loved my show, according to my memory.

If I had time to take a holiday, I would probably go to Amsterdam. I love it there. The people are so nice and laid back - probably because they're all stoned.

My most relaxing destination is my bank. When I travel there and see there's money in my account, I can relax knowing all my cheques will clear. Yes, I still write cheques. I'm old.

My favourite restaurant is a very exclusive, five-star establishment serving only the finest American fare. Perhaps you've heard of it. It's called McDonald's. It may have something to do with their executive chef, Ronald McDonald. I have a weakness for sexy, successful clowns.

My most adventurous travel experience was the time I flew to Madison, Wisconsin, for a show and all of my drag luggage was lost. That was quite the adventurous experience . running through a store trying to put together an outfit because I didn't want to cancel and disappoint the audience.

This is probably a typical American answer, but my favourite city is New York. I love theatre and fashion.

My favourite hotel is Lady Bunny's bedroom. Just kidding. She lives in a cardboard box. I love any hotel that has 24-hour room service. I'm not picky about accommodation, but there's nothing better than getting out of drag after a late show, lying in bed, and having food delivered to you.

My best piece of travel advice is to never travel with a flammable wig, toxic make-up, or narcotics. I learnt that the hard way. And always pack light. If you forget something, you can usually buy it at your destination . unless it's drag.

My one travel essential is eyelashes.

'Blame it on Bianca Del Rio' is on August 10 in Cape Town at the Artscape; and August 11 at the Teatro at Montecasino, Joburg.
