Malusi Gigaba has already denied allegations that he held an offshore bank account when he was the minister of public enterprises, his spokesperson said on Friday after the EFF tweeted an old story about it, linking it to the Gupta family.
Mayihlome Tshwete said it was tiring and time consuming for Gigaba, who is now home affairs minister, to keep returning to the subject.
''He has denied it,'' said Tshwete after EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu tweeted a link to a 2014 Mail & Guardian article that which claimed Gigaba had been investigated over the account.
This week it was claimed the wealthy industrialist family had offered some ANC MPs jobs in the Cabinet – a right reserved only for President Jacob Zuma. In the 2014 article the Mail & Guardian reported it was reliably informed that state security agents had probed an account in Gigaba's name – opened in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates – when he was still public enterprises minister.
Although State Security spokesperson Brian Dube denied that there was ever any investigation, three unnamed sources reportedly confirmed the probe.

Tshwete anyone who had proof of this should take it to the authorities for further investigation.
The supposed influence and ''state capture'' by the Guptas has been a hot topic this week.
The EFF have previously nicknamed Zuma ''Zupta'', claiming the family is too close to the president.
On Wednesday Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas confirmed a Financial Times article which reported that he had been offered the job of finance minister around the time that Nhlanhla Nene was removed from the post.
Another MP Vytjie Mentor said that while at the Gupta's house she was offered the job of public enterprises minister if she agreed to change an air route allocation, but she declined.
The ANC is holding an NEC meeting this weekend and the topic is expected to come up for discussion.
