“"If he can operate this [water gun], then we know he can actually overthrow the branch of the ANC.... Otherwise I don't take his threats seriously,”  he said, showing off the water gun.

The deputy minister in the Presidency added, "If you want to be a commander-in-chief of armed forces, go and contest elections, win elections. Then we will know you are a real commander in chief."

People of course took to twitter to react to the move:

Malema's EFF along with seven other opposition parties announced that they would boycott the sitting of the National Assembly on Thursday afternoon which is to hear President Jacob Zuma reply to Wednesday’s raucous debate of his budget vote.

In a recent interview with Al Jazeera Julius Malema said his party was prepared to overthrow the current ANC government "through the barrel of a gun”.

The Sunday Times reported this week that Minister of State Security David Mahlobo and Hawks head Berning Ntlemeza have had several meetings to discuss criminal action they want taken against the EFF leader for making "violent threats" against the state.
