When domestic worker Thembisile Manqele tied the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony with her employer Christoffel Badenhorst 22 years ago she never thought she would end up fighting with her husband's family over his estate after his death.

Manqele, 65, married Badenhorst, who died in 2009 at the age of 81, in December 1997 at a secret traditional wedding at her rural homestead of Ngodini in KwaZulu-Natal because he did not want his family to know he had married a Zulu woman...
