Mampara of the week: Faith Muthambi

17 September 2017 - 00:00 By Hogarth

Admission was in bad faith
At first she denied the story and tried to intimidate the Sunday Times by claiming it contravened a bill not yet signed into law. Then she got State Security Agency goons to fish out staff in her department who were "leaking information" to the press.
After ducking parliamentary questions, she finally admitted this week that "out of the people I've appointed, nine of them [are] my family and it's South Africans who deserve to be hired".
But now, realising the implications of a minister admitting nepotism, this Mampara is changing her tune again - claiming by "nine" she meant "none". She must take all of us for the dullards she used to hang out with when her job was to destroy the SABC...
