Mampara of the week: Markus Jooste

STELLENBOSCH DON OF DUD DEALS
It is Mamparas like this one who give big business a bad name and embolden Gupta fronts who justify the theft of state resources by pointing to corporate greed.
For a while this Mampara dismissed claims of impropriety at retail giant Steinhoff. It took a probe by German authorities for this filthy rich member of the Stellenbosch business royalty - some call it the Stellenbosch mafia - to finally step down amid allegations of fraud through the rigging of the company's financial statements.
In the process, 90% of the multinational's value has been wiped off, threatening its future and those of its thousands of employees around the world. We have enough problems as it is with our kleptocrats in political office, we should not tolerate their fellow travellers in the private sector as well.YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE:..
