A RECALCITRANT RACIST
Julius Malema, while he was president of the ANC Youth League, once used a derogatory word to refer to Indians. When this was pointed out to him, he apologised. Now he is cheering on as his EFF deputy president, Floyd Shivambu, refuses to accept that his comments about senior National Treasury official Ismail Momoniat were wrong.
No matter how you look at it, Shivambu's claim that Momoniat undermined "Africans" at the Treasury implied that Momoniat is a racist. Shivambu is a serial offender who is yet to answer for assaulting a journalist in the parliamentary precinct. We understand that Jacob Zuma's departure has rendered the Red Beret Brigade redundant on the political scene. However, such mampara-esque stunts will not revive its political fortunes.
