Mampara of the week: Busisiwe Mkhwebane

THULI'S SHOES ARE SO HARD TO FILL
The last time she got this accolade, public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane threatened to open a criminal case against Hogarth - which earned her another Mampara of the Week award. She seems to be keen to collect as many as possible, and improve her chances of walking away with the Mampara of the Year trophy.
After the NPA declined to pursue the case against public enterprises minister Pravin Gordhan, it has emerged that Mkhwebane feels that the former minister of finance still has a case to answer. So Gordhan has to appear before this Mampara and give the same explanation he gave to the Hawks about the early retirement of Ivan Pillay, former acting commissioner of the South African Revenue Service.
If the NPA found no basis to prosecute, what is this Mampara hoping to uncover? Don't be surprised if her next investigation is a probe of how she scored the Mampara prize this week...
