Julia Anastasopoulos became a South African internet phenomenon when she launched her web series Suzelle DIY in 2014.

Anastasopoulos is an artist, illustrator, designer and actress. Her alter ego, Suzelle, is a DIY expert — and she can cook too! In fact, she's just launched a new cookbook, Recipes, Suzelle DIY (Jacana).

We asked Suzelle what she'll be getting up to these Christmas holidays:

This year I am hosting a big Christmas garden party at my home in Somerset West. Marianne, my best friend and partner in Suzelle DIY and her family are all invited including Ryno and Bakkies (shame).

I will be making a fancy cold soup to start and some delicious fish on the braai with chop-chop mango salad. Marianne is making her usual weird trifle which I'm quite worried about so I'll also make a back-up dessert - white chocolate and poppy seed cake! All these recipes are available in my new fancy recipe book.

I love to get creative at Christmas, it's an amazing opportunity to arty your party.

I've made a dress for Christmas out of some fabric I had left over from a DIY curtain project. It's red and green and very festive.

I love to make my own gifts. This year I am making DIY koekie kits in a jar to make your own delicious Suzelle Koekies.

My Christmas food wish? I would love chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen (the first South African chef to be awarded a Michelin star) to make me a gourmet braai pie.
If you're reading this, Jan Hendrik, why aren't you returning my messages?
