Mampara of the week: Michael Masutha

03 March 2019 - 00:00 By HOGARTH

NOT THE BOSASA ME?
A “Good Samaritan” offered poor Mike shelter in the Windy City when he attended the ANC’s Siyanqoba rally in 2016. Mike flew down and spent a weekend in the mansion. He enjoyed the hospitality so much that it never crossed his mind to probe the identity of the Good Samaritan.
That is the unconvincing version that Masutha expects South Africans to believe.
Given what we know now, the Watsons do not dish out free lunch. Gavin’s arrival on Sunday morning was no coincidence. Masutha is in charge of a department that the Watsons had made their cash cow.
By staying at the Watson home, Masutha dived deep into Bosasa ’s pockets. Pleading ignorance won’t get Masutha off the hook.
This Mampara owes deputy chief justice Raymond Zondo a visit...
