No wonder SA's youth have little hope of a better future

Today SA celebrates Youth Day, paying homage to our leaders of tomorrow while remembering the school pupils who lost their lives during the June 16 1976 uprising in Soweto. But what is there truly to celebrate? How much better off are our youth today than they were 43 years ago?

Yes, we have freedom and democracy, but quality education for all is still a pipe dream and youth unemployment stands at a staggering 55%. That's more than double the general unemployment rate and means that more than half of SA's young people cannot find a job...
