Discredited opposition & paralysed ANC leave SA vulnerable to a social explosion

In recent weeks, large volumes of ink have been spilt on analysis of the collapse of the DA into a minor ethnic party. In the wake of the party's capture by the zealots at the Institute of Race Relations, and the return of Helen Zille, very few commentators have any sympathy for the party, though some have argued that its collapse is bad for democracy.
