As the virus spreads, we Africans have to trust governments that have failed us so often before

In November 2002, just over a year after the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York, an all-terrain vehicle crashed through a barrier outside a hotel in Mombasa, Kenya, and blew up, killing 13 people and injuring 80 others. Then attackers fired surface-to-air missiles at a Tel Aviv-bound charter plane taking off from a nearby airport. Both the hotel and the plane were Israeli-owned.
