We’ve had a dismal time since the president of there public addressed us during his state of the nation speech last year. The world has been turned on its head and we’ve been forced to confront the very essence of humanity.

But one of the small mercies of the new normal is that on Thursday night we didn’t have to suffer the usual fashion parade of turkeys dressed as peacocks that traditionally herald the president ’s state of the nation speech...
