In their attempts to fight their way out of the corner Jacob Zuma was left in by the Constitutional Court this week, his supporters grasped at the dissenting judgment of Leona Theron.

In doing so, many have mischaracterised the meaning of a dissenting judgment and what Theron said. Immediately after the judgment, the corner the former president was in was tight. He had until today to hand himself in to the police. If he had not done so, the police had to arrest him by Wednesday...
