Mthethwa’s flag gimmick can never foster social cohesion

Social cohesion cannot be fostered by flags, schoolchildren singing the national anthem or by the edicts of politicians. It can  be fostered only through inclusively governing in the widest interest of all communities, providing quality public services equitably to all, and governing honestly.
