In a welcome intervention, President Cyril Ramaphosa this week dispatched an envoy — former police minister Sydney Mufamadi — to Mozambique to talk to warring parties as political violence in that country escalated. Mufamadi’s visit comes as pressure mounts on the South African government to intervene to help resolve the violence that started after Frelimo was declared the winner of last year’s elections. ..
