Lewis Hamilton 'under no illusions'

Formula 1 title chase leader believes he can still be overhauled

08 October 2017 - 00:00 By THE DAILY TELEGRAPH and AFP

Lewis Hamilton says he is preparing to "go to war" in his "stubborn" Mercedes car at the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka today.
The championship frontrunner said he was "not at all comfortable" with his 34-point cushion over Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and would not be driving any more defensively given his lead.
Hamilton, 32, has increased his advantage over Vettel from three points to 34 in just two races thanks to his win in Singapore and second in Sepang last weekend.
The three-time world champion is aware the Ferrari was quicker at both circuits and only the Maranello team's profligacy has allowed him to steal a march in the title race.
