Hip hop heavyweight Cruz Afrika is staging a comeback with his upcoming single Tau featuring motswako rapper Notshi.

The single will drop on October 24, a week after the premiere of his reality TV show Love in the Keys on Moja Love (DStv Channel 157) on October 18.

Tau is pulled from Cruz Afrika’s upcoming EP Half of Me Reloaded showcasing his lyrical growth, maturity and re-entry into the music industry after a two-year hiatus. The rapper, born Tshepo Modise, is committed to delivering music with depth and purpose.

Cruz Afrika has signed label distribution deals with Vydia and gamma, two reputable US-based music distribution platforms known for working with big names including Usher, Fetty Wap, Post Malone and Lil Pump. The partnership marks a significant step in Cruz Afrika’s international expansion under his own label, Afrika Hotlines.

After years of personal and professional evolution, Cruz Afrika said he’s focused on creating wholesome and uplifting music. He described Tau as a reflection of a more mature, introspective and inspired artist. His next single, Mother’s Prayer, featuring his mother, is expected to drop in February 2026, offering fans a spiritually uplifting track in the vein of his hit Pray for Me.

In an effort to bury the hatchet, Cruz Afrika recently reached out to friend and former collaborator Emtee after a years-long feud that began in 2017. While their relationship was once close with many unreleased songs in their archives, rumuors and online disputes led to a bitter fallout.

Cruz extended an invitation to Emtee to join him on stage at the Rustenburg Garden Festival on December 25. Despite Emtee declining the offer and reigniting the beef on Twitter, Cruz Afrika remains steadfast in his desire for peace.

“I’ve grown up. I aim to squash the beef with Emtee and start over.”
