SABC1 is set to turn up the heat with the launch of a new weekly music and lifestyle TV show, Playlist @Moloko, on Friday at 9pm.
Hosted by Nomalanga Shozi and Robot Boii, the show promises an energetic celebration of youth culture, nightlife and the sounds that keep Mzansi moving. Playlist @Moloko offers viewers a front-row seat to South Africa’s buzzing urban music scene, blending music, lifestyle and lived experiences.
Shot on location at Moloko nightclub in Pretoria, the show captures the authentic vibe of the city’s nightlife while showcasing emerging and established talent. Each episode features live DJ sets, curated music videos, exclusive performances, behind-the-scenes club content and real-time audience interaction through live tweets.
Music lovers can also look forward to appearances from some of Mzansi’s biggest stars including Pearl Thusi, Njelic, Tito and Yuppie, DJ Spectacular and Naves, Jay Flavour, JR, Vetkuk and Mahoota, Poison and Mashobane.
Series producer Sjula Dlamini said Playlist @Moloko is more than a music programme. “Playlist @Moloko is an experience. We are capturing the energy of the club, the voice of the streets and the rhythm of the culture and bringing it into people’s homes every Friday night,” he said.
