Durban is set to come alive as Metro FM, in partnership with Executive Concerts, brings the heat with the highly anticipated Metro FM Music Awards Festival and public viewing.

Taking place on April 25 at Moses Mabhida Stadium’s People’s Park, the event promises a high-energy celebration of South African music and pop culture.

Timed to coincide with the Metro FM Awards, the festival offers fans the ultimate two-in-one experience a live concert and an official public viewing of one of the country’s biggest music nights. It’s all about good vibes, great music and shared moments as audiences gather to celebrate their favourite artists.

The lineup reads like a who’s who of Mzansi’s music scene. Expect electrifying performances from chart-toppers Young Stunna and Babalwa M, while DJ Tira and Dlala Thukzin are set to bring the signature Durban sound with infectious gqom beats. Maskandi lovers can look forward to Khuzani, while Big Nuz adds a nostalgic yet vibrant touch to the stage.

Media personalities Lamiez Holworthy and Lerato Kganyago will also keep the energy high with their dynamic presence behind the decks.

Guiding the festivities are some of South Africa’s most beloved personalities, including Somizi, Tbo Touch and Sizwe Mdlalose, who will keep the crowd entertained from start to finish with their charisma and flair.

Kicking off at 2pm and running into the night, the festival builds up to the main event: a live screening of the Metro FM Awards, giving fans the chance to celebrate every win, performance and standout moment together in real time.

With a mix of genres from amapiano and hip-hop to maskandi and gqom, the Metro FM Music Awards Festival and public viewing is shaping up to be one of Durban’s biggest entertainment highlights of the year.
