Brutal, honest and irreverent comedian John Vlismas will be performing at Lyric Theatre for one night only.

He says the show will be “bold, outrageous and original, and not for the faint-hearted, and will cover current events, social issues and his usual selection of hilarious human observation”.

Vlismas has been working hard on various projects, taking his one-man show to Harare, and Cape Town, and now Gauteng.

“I was going to wait until March, when I’ll be shooting a DVD at the Lyric, but a booking opened, so I took it.”

Vlismas’s management, Whacked, says it is very excited to give Vlismas fans a real treat.

“We know that John is one of the countries most hardworking comics. He is one of those performers who truly loves what he does, and the kind of people he attracts enjoy his fearless approach to comedy.”

Having created Melville’s, as well as the SA Comic’s Choice Awards, Vlismas has been extensively involved in building the current SA Comedy industry, and is known very much as a comic’s comic.

The show is at the Lyric Theatre on October 1 and will cost R95.
