Jacob Zuma, after hours
GUESTS at President Jacob Zuma's 70th birthday party at the ICC in Durban were entertained when two of his daughters asked him questions about his life.
Some of his candid answers had them in stitches, while others gave a rare glimpse into his private thoughts. His daughters Phumzile and Thuthukile revealed his favourite TV shows are Fawlty Towers and Mr Bean, while he also has a soft spot for local screen legend Leon Schuster.
Q: What is your favourite time of day?
A: Early evening when I'm done with the day's work. Where I sit and relax, watch TV, think and be myself.
Q: What is your favourite food?
A: Nyama [meat].
Q: What is your favourite car?
A: Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
Q: What is your favourite place?
Q: What is your favourite part of the world?
Q: Which is your favourite chocolate?
A: I like all chocolate but I like the one you girls buy me - One Bar [actually Bar One; this prompts much laughter].
Q: Would you go on a date with Helen Zille?
Q: Do you think you have enough children?
Q: Can you remember your first voicemail message?
A: Yes, it said 'Welcome to the world of communications'.
Q: Are you finished getting married?
A: I think so.
Q: What was your first car?
A: Ford Cortina. It was goldish brown and a second-hand car which my dad bought in Pietermaritzburg from an old lady.
Q: Who was responsible for your first heartbreak?
A: Is my heart breakable? If they say enough is enough, then it's fine. She was from Estcourt. She was what I thought I loved but she had to go back. But when I look at it now, she left me too early for my liking.
Q: How do you like your woman, thin or fat?
A: I like one with some body. She needs to be there.
